And Then There Were None!

Mia and Cosette (aka Taffy) the last two puppies, left on Sunday for their new homes in Utah. These two dogs are the reason we bred Maggie and ended up with 13 puppies living at our house.
My older sister wanted to have a dog 'just like Maggie' for her two young boys and convinced me that I could make their wish come true! Meanwhile my other sister thought this was the perfect opportunity to get a dog for her four little girls who have been dreaming of having a dog for years... And so the adventure begins. What sta
rted out to be a fun project to have a "couple of puppies" turned into a huge learning experience for my husband and I. B. learned how to make a whelping pen and outside playpen; I learned how to help deliver and bottle feed newborn puppies, nurse Maggie back to health and how to sell and market dogs to good homes. We have been very fortunate to meet 11 wonderful families that will love our puppies as much as we have. We hope all our new puppy owners will keep in touch and let us share your experiences with your new family member.

Have there ever been puppies loved as much as our 13 adorable puppies...
maybe so but it's hard to imagine.

Update - Only Two Puppies Remain

I'm almost sorry to say that we have sold all but two of our beautiful puppies. It is hard to give them up, but fun to meet the wonderful families that will be caring for them.

We still have two of my favorites left...Jack and Max. Today as I was giving Jack a bath he was so patient and mellow...he didn't even mind the blow dryer! Max likes to hang with my daughter, he's a cuddler and loves to follow her around the yard. I have to say all of our puppies are so smart...it amazes me that they are already paper trained. B built them an awesome box with lots of room to play and a separate section with newspapers to 'do their business'. It sure makes caring for them easier when they go in the right place!

Four Boys Left

Well, it's been an adventure, that's for sure! But, all the puppies are weaned, and 9 of them are off to their new homes. Now there are just four boys left: Baxter, Jack Jack, Watson and Max.

I must say, I'm a little surprised because these are four of the sweetest puppies in the litter!

Baxter is the biggest cuddler. He's always ready to climb into your lap and hand out lots of kisses. He LOVES being dried off after a bath and makes the cutest little noises indicating he's happy as can be with the rub-down.

Jack is by far our most handsome dog. His apricot coat with his white chest give him that adorable teddy bear look. He's also very well-behaved and seems to understand everything you're telling him.

Watson is a cuddly guy, and loves playing in the yard with the grand kids. His personality reminds me of his mom, Maggie. He's calm, easy-going, but wants to be part of the action too!

Max will make a wonderful family dog. He loves kids and loves to be played with. He's always up for anything, whether running in the yard or sitting back and taking it easy, he's happy to be doing it, as long as it's with you.

Ready to take one home? Just e-mail us at maggiespuppiesakc@gmail.com for more pictures or to meet the little guys in person!

Bath Time

Hi there! I'm Kathleen's daughter and I live in Utah. I've been helping my mom with this blog and have been dying to meet all these adorable puppies!

My 17-month-old son and I are here in Colorado visiting for a week, and we've had so much fun with Maggie's puppies. They are getting so big! They are now five-weeks-old and are starting to explore the world around them more and more. Today we bathed them for another photo shoot (check out the new photos to the left) and while they played in the sun to dry, the girls ran while the boys sniffed out all the plants in the garden.

They are also playing more with each other lately. They love to "growl" and tackle one another - it's so cute to watch!

If any of you are in the Utah area and would like a puppy, I'd love to bring one to you! Just send us an e-mail at maggiespuppiesakc@gmail.com

Is a Poodle the right dog for you?

The Poodle is alert, active, intelligent, proud, and always carries himself with an air of dignity. Poodles are very affectionate animals that bond easily with their people. They love to spend a lot of time with their owners playing, learning social rules, and cuddling. Poodles are hardworking when given the chance. Intelligent and adaptable. They are very agile, athletic, and trainable. Poodles have excellent eyesight, a sharp sense of smell, and very good hearing. A Poodles fur is hypoallergenic and does not shed. The Standard Poodle is thought to be the most intelligent of all the dog breeds.

Benjamin L. Hart and Lynette A. Hart, authors of The Perfect Puppy, said of the Standard Poodle, "If you select a Standard Poodle, you will be selecting one of the top-ranked breeds in trainability." They continued by saying that the Standard Poodle is easy to obedience train as well as house-train. This size Poodle is very playful, usually good with children, and yet is not overly excitable.

One as cute as the next...

This weekend V and I took photos of the 3-week-old puppies. As each pup was being groomed for their photo shoot, V and I were ooh-ing and aah-ing over which was the cutest one…in the end we couldn’t decide…see if you can.

We would love to have you come meet our "pack" so you can select which puppy will be your perfect pet. If you don’t live near Littleton, Colorado please contact me and I’ll send you more photos and details to help make your selection. We are currently taking deposits to hold your new puppy until they are 8-weeks-old, which will be September 24th. Puppies can be shipped to your home town for an additional fee.

Hope you enjoy viewing the photos as much as we enjoyed taking them for you! We have given them temporary names to help identify them.

Tail Docking

Today V and I took the pups for their first outing...a trip to the vet to have their tails docked. Maggie came along for the big adventure and was not pleased to have to leave them behind. We returned in about and hour and the deed was done. Who came up with this idea of some breeds having shorter tails? Not sure, but next time V and I are sending someone else to the vet!

All the pups came through it like champs and are now sleeping with Mom.

Maggie's puppies are due around August 2nd. I will post pictures of each adorable pup as soon as they arrive.
